Whats Mary up to these days???

Mary has been doing quite well thanks for asking....
Jason has been out of town A LOT and will be traveling most of June. We are staying busy at the Birch Aquarium with our friends and going for walks and touring up San Diego.

The busy body had a jam packed weekend that started with picking up Daddy from the airport on Friday and jetting over to the zoo for a little dinner picnic (yes - we did chase another peacock around, but no video or photos this time). Saturday we went to the 5th Annual El Cerrito Chili Cook-off at Rob's house. There were about 10 young kids there and Mary was having a blast running around and eating the shredded cheese (long story).

Today we got up and decided to head over to the Wild Animal Park and check out the Heart of Africa. The Park has changed SO much over the past 2 years - we were actually quite disappointed with the short little bus ride. They got rid of the monorail that goes around most of the park so that you can see all of Asia and Africa. Now it is just a small part of the Africa - ONLY. The alleged future enhancements are still a year off according to the Park employees.

All in all we had a great weekend and Jason will be around until Tuesday when he heads out to Spokane, Washington this week. Next week he is gone M-F in Walnut Creek. Ironic?

Since I am a single Mom for most of June... please feel free to invite me over for dinner. HA.
(no, really)

;)

Sally - Happy 9 Months little lady!

And we do mean little - our little lady weighs in at 15 lbs. 14 oz. Here are her stats:

Weight - 5th percentile
Height - 29" 90% percentile

We make 'em long and lean.....

The doctors are not concerned about her weight. They never even bat an eyelash at me over it! I think with childhood obesity on the rise they are just happy that she is not too big (they tell me: "she wont struggle with her weight").

What is really funny is that Jason is super stoked that she is the 90%th percentile on the height. He just cant get over his tall gal. :)

BIG ANNOUCEMENT DAY!!!

WOW! More great news! The 2littlethomsaes Auntie Monica is engaged to the love of her life! She is engaged to Michael Shirman and will be planning a wedding for sometime in 2009. Congratulations to Monica! I have known Monica since 1998 in our Banana Republic days and she was in my wedding and has been with me through so many exciting life changes. I pray that she enjoys the wonderful union of marriage as much as we do and that she is blessed with a wonderful family of her own someday soon.... and that she will have her own blogspot with baby photos~~~ xoxo

Guess who is PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok - now I am not going to announce a pregnancy on this blog...... or am I???

I am... not but....... My dearest friend Jen is PREGNANT! She is due December 10th~ and we are all so happy for her. We pray that she has a girl so that the 2littlethomases have a best friend for life to go out and have fun with just like I have had fun with Jen over the past 13 years.

Celebrating 5 years of Marriage Bliss!

The 2littlethomases are happy that we got married 5 years ago on June 1st in Rancho Santa Fe, Ca. If it weren't for us - they would not have life or a cute blogspot! HA

Julie and Jason went out for a casual but very romantic dinner on the beach at Jakes in Del Mar. It was very nice and we walked around a little by the shore before the date ended. Definitely a good time for us to reconnect and reflect on how happily married we really are! (these photos are as good as it could get with the sun behind us and strangers taking our photos....)

Not crawling yet.... but

Well - Sally does not crawl but she is pulling herself up on "furniture" and ppl. Maybe she will by-pass this step and just start walking?? Who knows... it is pretty amazing to watch such a mellow baby that is a little cuddle koala 99% of the time pull herself up from a sitting position.

:)

My 3 clones

Not CLOWNS but CLONES - here are the Thomas genes all on the couch. Will anyone ever look like a Maier?

The Eating Machine!!

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Sally and her health (update)

She is good by the way! She is an eating machine!! I really can hardly believe that this same girl that would barely take her bottle is now chugging her soy formula and eating everything I put in her mouth. She (seriously) always cries when we eat in front of her... we have to be mindful of sharing and Mary is learning what NOT to share (peanut butter, cows milk, etc.)

Not sure how much she weighs - I will know more at her 9 month check up. She is still relatively skinny and long, but again she seriously loves to eat these days.

:)

How are the girls doing in San Diego???

The girls are doing very well!

We are all unpacked and starting to get out more to explore around town.

Tuesday we became members at the Quail Botanical Gardens up in Encinitas. http://www.qbgardens.org/events/just_for_kids.shtml

They have a lot of fun activities for Mary on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Yesterday she planted a succulent and played with some new kids in the garden. Sally really enjoyed being out and watching all the other kids and even met a little boy that was holding her hand.

Today (Wed) we became members of the Scripps La Jolla Birch Aquarium.
http://aquarium.ucsd.edu/

Mary got to see a Giant Octopus, tons of Jelly fish, sea horse, etc. There is a great shark tank there and some various activities for toddlers and preschoolers to check out. She did not want anything to do with the "OK to touch" tide pool. I think it was a little scary to her to touch a slimy fish. Sally was practically jumping out of her stroller and making happy squeaky noises the whole time.

Tomorrow we are going to La Jolla to a new park with some friends that are just about the same ages as the twolittlethomases.

It is supposed to warm up a bit this weekend so we will take Mary to the ocean and have her collect shells and explore around a bit.

Our plans for the rest of the summer consist of obtaining a Zoo pass so that we can do that a couple times a week and maybe even looking into some swim lessons. I have already looked at preschools for the Fall and that does not start until September. Until then we are going to stay busy so that Mary does not get bored!!!

Mary and her boyfriend Pablo

Yes - she is his sweetheart. That is what he calls her. If he wants to be with her he will need to move to San Diego... but only AFTER college and AFTER he gets a good paying job... and AFTER he asks for our permission will it be considered. ha, ha.

Our last day in the bay

Our last day in the bay will be the 28th!

I am flying out that night with the girls and Jason is driving down with Clifford.

Our stuff will arrive on Wed. and then Jason starts his job on Thursday the 1st.

We are moving back to San Diego!

This weekend the 2littlethomases will be traveling to So. Cal to stay with their Grandparents while Jason and I head on down to San Diego to check out the rentals. We are not looking to buy just yet.

Jason starts his job on May 1st and we are sad to leave our Clayton friends, but really happy to get back to San Diego. REALLY REALLY HAPPY!! Hooray for the beautiful beaches and nice sunny/warm weather!

More details to follow of when our last day is here in the Bay Area.

You TUBE Video - From SF Zoo

Well - we all heard about those BAD kids that taunted the Tigers and .... we know what happened there. Lets see what happens when GOOD kids taunt a peacock at that very same zoo.

How are we doing?

We have all been sick for weeks now, but Mama Bear is finally better and back to running the show. Sally is hanging on to her cold and Mary just has a little runny nose, but all is well. Jason is semi-sick but proclaims that AIRBORNE (which is a documented scam) is sort of helping him.

Because we were all so ill on Easter we are doing our Easter Dinner and Egg Hunt this Sunday and will post the photos thereafter.

Sally is no longer on Neocate and has switched over to Soy formula now. So far so good, but I will take a diaper in to the Ped. to have it checked out in another week.

More interesting information to follow............
